Source to Sea Challenge

I have decided that for my 2023 challenge I will be raising funds for the Royal Papworth Hospital Charity.

The charity exists to support the ground-breaking work of Royal Papworth Hospital. With increasing pressures on the NHS, the charity plays a vital role in ensuring that the hospital continues to provide the highest standards of care by investing in staff development, improving the hospital environment for its patients and supporting research into new ways of treating heart and lung disease. Its patients, their families and the staff are at the heart of everything they do and this is all made possible by the generosity of its supporters.

I started my challenge to get from the Source to Grain in 14 or fewer stages on May 14th but in less than a week and after completing 4 stages I had to call what I thought would be just a temporary halt due to a foot injury. 2 months later having received appropriate treatment I was finally able to resume my challenge from Abingdon.

I'm now very happy and relieved to report that I completed my challenge on August 22nd, arriving at Grain Beach at the end of my 14th stage.
